Sailings are available (APRIL to November) on four modern bulk carriers of 35,000 grt built in 1999/2000 sailing from Holland through the St Lawrence Seaway into the Great Lakes calling at USA ports. The ships return to Northern Europe possible via North Africa, Mediterranean or even Turkish ports.

The ships are Polish owned with European captains.

Ijmuiden (near Amsterdam), Cleveland (Ohio), Burns Harbor (Indiana), returning to Europe - Round trip duration approx. 60 days.

The trans-Atlantic voyage from Ijmuiden to Cleveland or Burns Harbor is classified as a “semi-liner” voyage as the ports of call usually remain the same. The return voyage is classified as “tramp” voyage as the European ports are not finalised until just before the return sailing. They can include ports in the Mediterranean, North Africa, the Black Sea or the Baltic. Passengers need to be flexible.

Passengers have access to the officer’s common areas including dining saloon and lounge.

There is accommodation for 6 passengers in either the owners cabin (two lower berths), double cabin (upper/lower berths) or single cabins. All cabins are equipped with a wardrobe, sofa, desk and private facilities.
                                                

Fares are quoted in US$ per passenger and are inclusive of travel and full board and deviation insurance.

Ijmuiden to Cleveland (approx.12/14 days) $1,450 or single occupancy $1,940 plus port fees $100. Ijmuiden to Burns Habor (approx.16/21 days) $1,650 or single occupancy $2,390 plus port fees $100. Great Lakes to Europe (approx.25/30 days) $2,050 or single occupancy $2,975 plus port fees $100.
Double cabin full round voyage (approx. 45/70 days) $5,700 or single occupancy $8,550 plus port fees $250. Ijmuiden to Cleveland (approx.12/14 days) $1,350 or single occupancy $1,790 plus port fees $100. Ijmuiden to Burns Habor (approx.16/21 days) $1,550 or single occupancy $2,240 plus port fees $100. Great Lakes to Europe (approx.25/30 days) $1,950 or single occupancy $2,830 plus port fees $100.

Note – The round trip fare is calculated on a 60-day passage. In the case of the voyage either being shorter or longer in duration an adjustment refund or additional charge is calculated at $95 per day per passenger.
